An interactive explainer in Russian: one self-contained index.html, 585 lines, no dependencies. You set up a position, look through the eyes of one piece, and every square is hatched as a wall, free, an even trade or a profitable capture, by static exchange evaluation. The planned next step is replaying my own games with the wall map changing move by move.

Detail

A wall is as strong as the cheapest piece holding it, which makes the pawn the best mason on the board: one point of material seals two squares against everything more expensive.
